Family Cruise Vacation can be very expensive.  That is why it is important to start researching for the cruise vacation that you family will be taking as soon as possible.   From time to time there are specials and deals available.  As with many other vacations, cruises do have peak months and some slower months.  When you book your cruise on an off peak month you should be able to get you cruise at a lower price.    Speaking of booking your cruise, there are some cruise lines that offer a discount when you book for a certain time in advance of your cruise.  “Certain time in advance” is relative to each cruise and cruise line.  You will have the contact that specific cruise to see how in advance you have to book the cruise to receive the discounts.

Cruise lines know that there are a plenty of families that want to take a cruise vacation with their children.  Some of the cruise lines have adapted their cruise itineraries and ships amenities to accommodate families traveling with kids.  There are also cruise ships that have been built with families with children as their main focus.

Two popular television networks, Nickelodeon and Disney, have cruise ships with themes from their children shows.  Disney Family Cruises has several ships that set sail throughout the year.  You can expect to find Disney cruise ships that sail to different spots throughout the world.   In addition to having a great trip on the seas, you can make stops in Europe, Mexico, Bahamas, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Alaska, and more.    Lengths of each cruise vacation are also varied; there are some cruise vacations that are a few days while others have a duration of a few weeks.

Nickelodeon Family Cruises run on the Norwegian Cruise Lines and offers fun games for young kids through teens.  You also get a chance to meet some of the popular Nickelodeon characters.   Norwegian and Nick have cruise ships that sail throughout the year.
Beyond the Nickelodeon Family Cruises and Disney Family Cruises, there are cruise lines that have family friendly activities for children to enjoy.  The cruises are planned for the whole family.  You may not see the popular children characters on board, but that does not mean that your children will not have a great time.

There are plenty of cruises and destinations.  If you start to look early you can find a cruise with amenities and port stops that fits your family’s budget and desires.
